The Zero Waste Collection
Welcome to The Zero Waste Collection...all your favourite Workbelt styles...but made from the leather offcuts otherwise destined for landfill.
These are unique statement pieces... think of them as wearable art!
The edges of a leather hide are as unique as each animal and The Zero Waste Collection showcases this.
The classic Workbelt leather bag styles allow for a bit of embellishment. So if there’s a Workbelt style you like, but you’d like a one-of-a-kind version, choose a Zero Waste piece. Browse the Workbelt Products to determine the style you like...you’ll find all the Specs there.
El will carefully select the offcuts of leather that best suit the bag design. The smaller pieces use multiple smaller offcuts to introduce some intricacy; the larger designs invite larger, more striking natural edges.
You can choose one of the 4 Workbelt Leathers:
There's also a Desert Sand version that showcases the beige, tan and brown leathers that El has worked with;
or a Stormy Sea version that uses all the blue, grey and black leathers in her studio.
Or you’re welcome to have a combination...it’s just a matter of reaching out on the Contacts page.
Working with leather is such a privilege. And a lot of time and energy goes into making each Zero Waste piece. It is a very satisfying process. So if you’d like a statement piece, and to do your part for the planet, choose a Zero Waste piece.
Design & Making Notes
El will be making your Zero Waste piece from her studio in Tasmania, Australia. There's something pretty special about the Maker knowing your name while they're making your bag ❤️
El only uses upholstery leather because it is far more durable than garment leather. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't treat your new leather beauty with the respect she deserves...
Condition her (check out El's 100% natural Leather Conditioner)
Keep her away from water
Store her out of direct sunlight
And...any natural markings pay tribute to the life of the beast
Postage is on El. If you choose a Clutch, it will be set in paper; if you choose a bag, it will be sent in a compostable pack. If you open with care, you can reuse your compostable pack.
